The Institute has been granted affiliation ad quinquennium experimenti gratia to the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome in 2012 (Congregation of the Catholic Education, Prot. Nr. 100/2011, see below), and therefore the three-year curriculum offering the Degree of Bachelor of Philosophy is acknowledged as having international validity. Specifically, the degree will have in each country the validity any Pontifical qualification has according to the mutual agreement between the country and the Holy See. In 2017, the affiliation has been renewed for another five years, as contained in the following page.
For those who would like to enrol in our Institute, therefore, it is very important to understand the practical validity of our qualification.
Our qualifications are valid for candidates who would like to proceed for theological studies in Ecclesiastical or Pontifical Universities all over the world, though this may vary depending on each Country’s education policies.
However, in Nigeria, there are limitations to our qualification due to National Educational Policies which state that for an Institution to be recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC), it must be affiliated also to a Nigerian University. We are presently on this process, but not until its completion, Don Bosco Institute of Philosophy is valid for what it offers.
At the moment, our Institution does not provide accommodation for students. Students who enrol in our Institute are to procure accommodation for and by themselves.
